You can Open a case when the maximum estimated delivery date from checkout has passed, 48 hours have elapsed since your Help with order message, and you are within 30 days of that delivery estimate. Non-delivery Purchase Protection often requires the order to be 7+ days past the maximum estimated delivery window. After Etsy approves a case, card refunds typically post in 2–5 business days.

Frequently asked questions

Etsy tracking never uploaded — when open case?
After maximum estimated delivery date passes, Help request 48 hours ago, and within 30-day case window. Non-delivery Purchase Protection often requires 7+ days past maximum delivery estimate. No tracking strengthens buyer case.
Etsy tracking stuck in pre-transit for weeks?
Message seller in Help thread. If no ship proof after delivery window, case for non-delivery. Seller may have created label without handing to carrier.
Made-to-order Etsy processing time — extends delivery estimate?
Checkout delivery range accounts for processing time listed on listing. Case eligibility uses that displayed maximum date, not buyer impatience before range ends.
International Etsy order customs delay — case?
Normal customs within estimate may not qualify. Refused duties void protection. Tracking held at customs with buyer payment due is buyer responsibility.
Seller marked shipped but tracking invalid?
Document invalid tracking in case — carrier has no record. Etsy reviews tracking validity for non-delivery claims.
Etsy order cancelled by seller — refund timing?
Cancellation through Etsy Payments refunds automatically — often faster than return path. 2–5 business days to card.
Package returned to sender Etsy — buyer case?
Non-delivery or seller fault return-to-sender may qualify for case after Help period. Screenshot tracking return to sender event.
Wrong address buyer fault — Etsy refund?
Buyer-entered wrong address delivery may not qualify Purchase Protection. Correct address orders mis-shipped by seller differ.
Etsy local pickup never picked up — refund?
Local pickup policies vary by shop. Unpicked orders may not auto-refund — message seller then case if seller no-show on agreed pickup.
Holiday Etsy shipping late — still case?
Compare to checkout maximum delivery date, not general holiday stress. 7+ days late rule applies to estimate window.
INR case before delivery date — rejected?
System blocks early case — wait for callout date in Still need help section.
Seller sent replacement tracking instead of refund?
If you want refund not replacement, state in Help thread. Case for refund if seller insists replacement on non-delivery claim.
